Tata Steel Share Gains 5% as Post Q4 Results impress, Reason Behind this Upward Move; Check Details..

On Tuesday, May 14th, there was a lot of interest from buyers in the shares of Tata Steel Ltd, which is a well-known company that makes steel.

Many people started purchasing the company’s shares, which caused the stock price to go up. On the next day, Wednesday, May 15th, the price of Tata Steel’s shares increased by 5.16%, reaching ₹157.15 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

This jump in share price happened after the company shared its new financial plan for the year 2025-26, which made investors feel more confident about its future performance.

At the start of the trading day, the stock price opened at ₹151.00. As the day went on, the price kept increasing and finally reached an intraday high of ₹157.15. This showed a strong upward movement compared to the previous day’s closing price of ₹149.43. The chart that shows the price movement throughout the day clearly indicates that the stock was doing very well and moving in a positive direction.

So, why are investors suddenly showing so much interest in metal and steel stocks like Tata Steel?

One big reason is the recent news about an agreement between the United States and China. Earlier this week, the two countries agreed to a temporary trade deal, also known as a tariff truce, which will last for 90 days.

As part of this deal, the U.S. decided to reduce the high taxes (tariffs) it had placed on Chinese goods—from 145% down to 30%. In return, China also agreed to lower its taxes on American goods from 125% to just 10%. This news has made the global market more hopeful, and investors now believe that metal companies may benefit from this improved trade situation.

Another reason for the positive sentiment around Tata Steel is the company’s strong performance in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2023-24 (Q4FY24). During this period, Tata Steel’s net profit (the money the company made after all expenses) doubled, reaching ₹1,200 crore. This improvement happened because the company was able to control its costs more effectively, the prices of raw materials came down, and it earned more income from other sources.

All these factors combined have made investors feel optimistic about the future of Tata Steel and other metal companies, leading to increased buying activity in these stocks.
